Anti-bullying

Our Commitment to Preventing Bullying

We take bullying very seriously.

Every child has the right to feel happy and safe in school, and we will not tolerate bullying. If it does occur, we act quickly and effectively to resolve it.

What parents say

In our 2025 parental survey:

  • 99% agreed or strongly agreed that their child feels safe at EHPS (with 71% strongly agreeing)

  • 99% agreed or strongly agreed that the school makes sure pupils are well behaved

  • 78% said their child had not been bullied. Of those who reported bullying, 52% agreed or strongly agreed that the school dealt with it quickly and effectively (44% were neutral)

These results reflect our commitment to creating a safe, respectful environment for every child.

How we educate and prevent bullying

  • We teach children what bullying is and what to do if they feel they are being bullied, using strategies like the Trusted Hand exercise

  • We take part in Anti-Bullying Week every year and teach the NSPCC acronym STOP (Several Times On Purpose)

  • Our staff are trained to respond promptly and effectively

  • Our Kindness Crew is trained to support children on the playground and promote positive relationships whilst informing adults if they spot anything unkind.

We are vigilant and always listen carefully to children and their families. When unkind behaviour occurs, we support the child affected and also work with the child who was unkind to understand the root cause and prevent it happening again.
