Supporting Disadvantaged Pupils

At East Hunsbury Primary School, we recognise that there are many factors that can put a child at a disadvantage compared to their peers. We do everything we can to ensure that all children, including those deemed disadvantaged, can access our broad, balanced and aspirational curriculum and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that disadvantage is complex and multifaceted. We work closely with our trust (NPAT) to understand these complexities and to design strategies that make a real difference.

What guides our work?
We are guided by the latest research and best practice, including recommendations from the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and the work of Marc Rowlands. This ensures that our decisions are evidence-based and focused on what works for children.
Our strategy is not about quick fixes. It is about long-term impact - removing barriers, raising expectations and creating opportunities so every child can thrive.
