One School - Ethos & Culture

We are proud to be a truly inclusive school. Our curriculum is inclusive by design and we are relentless in giving every child what they need to thrive.

We are one school made up of:

  • mainstream classes,

  • Our specialist provision – The Hive and

  • The Nest, our enhanced (Ordinarily Available) provision.

Children from The Hive, The Nest and mainstream share learning experiences, take part in trips, join House Events and contribute fully to school life as ‘one school’.

In our mainstream classes, we do not use setting as we do not want to put a ceiling on any child’s learning. Instead, teachers provide tailored challenge and support so all children learn well in class with their peers. Targeted interventions help us keep children up rather than needing to catch them up. Individual Learning Plans are used when needed and reviewed regularly.

We have been part of the PINS project which strengthens inclusive practice through collaboration and training and we have taken part in community projects such as: “Who Are You in Your Mask?”.

Our termly Chatter Matters group supports families of neurodiverse children.

See our Graduated Approach for more information about of universal, targeted and specialist support we offer all children including those with SEND, EAL or who have a barrier to their learning (disadvantaged):
